If God took one day in seven to quit work and just reflect on what He had done the previous six days, maybe you should, too.

Once when Jesus had been out praying, one of his disciples came to him as he finished and said, "Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples." -- Luke 11:1 (NLT)

If you're not used to praying, it can be hard to start. Jesus' own disciples felt the same way. So they asked Jesus for help. You can do the same thing. How do you want Jesus to help your prayer life?

Be sure to stay busy and plant a variety of crops, for you never know which will grow -- perhaps they all will. -- Ecclesiastes 11:6 (NLT)

Looking at a seed, it's hard to imagine what the plant will look like one day. You have to plant it and wait for it to grow. In your life you will sow many seeds; you will try many things. Some seeds will grow, and some won't. Some things you try will work out, and some will not. What have you tried that failed? That succeeded?

Maybe there are people whom God has placed in your life as spiritual leaders or mentors. Put some of these people in your prayers today. Are you being teachable to their counsel? Are you giving them a little slack when they don't meet your expectations?
